This extraordinary large octagonal trellis pavilion is shaped like a perfect octagon. It was created as a commission for a private rose lover in Austria as the centerpiece of a private park for the terracotta statue of Flora, the Roman goddess of flowers. Flora is the protector and mystical center of these green Elysian realms.
The large metal pavilion is an airy retreat where you can gain strength and come back to yourself under the blooming roses. With its weight of 750 kilograms, the pavilion requires a solid base. The sixteen ground anchors must be concreted to protect them from frost. The 100-centimeter-wide trellises form eight arched entrances that curve into the elegant roof. The crowning glory of the exclusive trellis pavilion is the striking pine cone Classic Garden Elements.
The trellis pavilion is like a stage in the garden
The Schönbrunner Pavilion is the stage for all kinds of flowering climbing plants. It offers climbing roses, clematis and Virginia creepers plenty of space to develop and climb up to the light. The octagonal pavilion's metal lattice fits perfectly into the garden. The trellis lattice and the open design give it a playful lightness. The large pavilion can be used in many ways: as a place for retreat, as a meeting place, for staging and as a garden decoration. In any case, it fulfills its role with elegance and dignity. A gravel floor suits the metal pavilion just as well as clinker or natural stone. On a pedestal, as shown in the pictures, its playful shape is particularly effective.
