Mullioned windows have long been a symbol of Nordic architecture and an important part of the region's cultural heritage. This traditional design, where the window panes are divided by thin wooden or metal bars, not only has aesthetic advantages but also practical and historical significance that dates back a long time.
At Vansta, we have developed our own method for mullions and can replicate all traditional windows and match existing windows on your property.
Mullioned windows have a unique aesthetic charm that has maintained its popularity through the centuries. The characteristic division of the window panes provides a visually interesting dynamic to buildings and contributes to their character and identity. Furthermore, the mullion allows for variations in design, which has led to a diversity of styles ranging from traditional to modern.Although mullioned windows have a long history, they are still relevant today. Modern manufacturing techniques and materials have made it possible to create mullioned windows that combine traditional aesthetics with high performance and energy efficiency. These windows offer the benefits of a traditional appearance while meeting modern demands for sustainability and comfort. Mullioned windows represent not only a stylistic tradition but also a cultural heritage worth preserving for future generations.Vansta is unique in being able to replicate muntins and has two methods for how we muntin our orangery.
We have dedicated a lot of time and care to finding a method for creating muntins for our conservatories that does not compromise U-values and technical performance.
We make our muntins with a unique profile that is glued to your glass with a cold and weather-resistant tape. The muntins are glued on both the inside and outside, and between the panes, we place a colored spacer - all to create as genuine an impression as possible of a glass-dividing muntin.
The muntins are applied artisanally by hand during the installation.
This method is for those who prioritize an easy-to-maintain conservatory where window cleaning can be done completely unobstructed. Here, the muntin is located between the glass to provide a visual impression.
The muntin has a beautiful profiling and can also be manufactured in an arched shape.
