Barged windows have long been a symbol of Nordic architecture and an important part of the region's cultural heritage. This traditional design, where window panes are divided by thin wooden or metal bars, has not only aesthetic benefits but also practical and historical significance that stretches back far into time.
At Vansta, we have developed our own method for transoms and can mimic all traditional windows and copy existing windows on your property.
Barge windows have a unique aesthetic charm that has maintained their popularity over the centuries. The characteristic division of the window panes gives a visually interesting dynamic to buildings and contributes to their character and identity. Furthermore, barge windows allow for variations in design, which has led to a diversity of styles ranging from traditional to modern.Although mullioned windows have a long history, they are still relevant today. Modern manufacturing techniques and materials have made it possible to create mullioned windows that combine traditional aesthetics with high performance and energy efficiency. These windows offer the benefits of a traditional look while meeting modern demands for durability and comfort. Mullioned windows represent not only a stylistic tradition but also a cultural heritage worth preserving for future generations.Vansta is the only one able to copy lattices and has two methods for how we lattice our orangeries.
We have spent a lot of time and care finding a method for making louvers on our orangeries that does not compromise on U-values and technical performance.
We make our bars with a unique profile that is glued to your glass with a cold and weather-resistant tape. The bars are glued on both the inside and outside and between the glasses we place a colored spacer - all to create as genuine an impression as possible of a glass dividing bar.
The bars are applied by hand during assembly.
This method is for those who value an easy-to-maintain orangery where window cleaning can be done without any obstacles. Here, the bars are placed between the panes to create a visual impression.
The grille has a beautiful profile and can also be made in an arch shape.
